Muhammad Yousuf, playing for Pakistan, won the record of most runs in calender year in test cricket with his best batting.  He took this record in 2006 by scoring 1778 runs in 19 innings in 11 Test matches.

 Muhammad Yousuf made his Test cricket debut for Pakistan in 1998 and retired in 2010.
 Muhammad Yousuf served for Pakistan in 156 innings of 90 Test matches, in which he scored 7530 runs.  His highest score is 223 runs.

 Muhammad Yousuf is one of the legend cricketers of Pakistan, he has raised his name in the world of cricket by holding the record of most runs in calendar year and secured his place in the hearts of Pakistan fans.

Muhammad Yousuf broke Sir Vivi Richard's record of 1976 and claimed the honor of most test runs in a calendar year.

Let's take a look at Sir Viv Richard's 1976 record for most Test runs in a calendar year:

Sir Viv Richards scored most Test runs in 1976. He scored 1710 runs in 19 innings of 11 Test matches.  
Apart from this, Sir Viv Richards scored 7 centuries and 5 half centuries in Test cricket in the year 1976, And his high score has been close to 300. If we talk in the right sense, his high score was 291 runs.  

The record of most test runs in a calendar year was in the name of sir viv richards for 30 years. 

After 30 years, this record was taken by Muhammad Yousuf in 2006 by making most test runs 1788.  

It has been 16 years since Muhammad Yousuf's record of most test runs in a calendar year was made till 2022 but till now no batsman could break the record of most test runs in a calendar year in test cricket.
